It's a little hard finding the restaurant because you either walk though La Salle Grill or walk in through the back. But it's great once you are able to find the place. The bar and grill has a lot of a room and a great place to gather with friends. The service was a little above average but not the greatest. The place was very clean and great environment. They had live music on Friday night. I am not the biggest fan of live music at a restaurant because at times you couldn't hear the conversation at the table but the music was good so it made it tolerable. I ordered the braised beef and potatoes which were good. A little on the sweet side but still good. We also orders the fried pork belly which was real good. For those who are Spanish, basically it's fried chicharon which is one my favorite dishes. The drinks were also really good. I ordered the X marks the spot which is a tequila drink. The drink was fresh and tasty. I was told the restaurant was known for their drinks and I agree. I would come back to this restaurant. The food and the drinks were real good. The portions were perfect. A great place to hangout with friends or family for some good food and drinks.

We dined here last night and tasted the BEST South American Wines. The food was great but we expect that since we've been here several times. Here's what we love; if a waiter, the sommelier, the host, anyone who walks by will stop what they are doing to answer a question or give an insight, the presentation of the food and wine is enhanced because everyone in the place knows how it was prepared or presented. This is a rock solid, grade A restaurant that just radiates quality, consistently! And BTW our waiter Jaime was outstanding.

The concept is derivative, formulaic, trite. But the food is excellent. They have a great selection of craft beer and whiskey, and the service is up to Lasalle standards. Definitely a "gastro" pub... you will have more than your share of gas and bile flowing after consuming such heavy, hoppy beer and greasy vittles.

We had just been threw the V-Day blizzard and State Road 2 was closed because of the car wrecks, with our Valentine's Day plans squashed, we headed back to Downtown South Bend. We were hungry, well dressed and not elitist. We called ahead while we were pulled over in a safe parking and we were told that Lasalle Kitchen & Tavern was open and we did not need reservations. At first, while my date and I were greeted with out dated and regionally mismatched snobbery at the door of La Salle Grill, I wanted to just to turn and go to Corndance. When we reached upstairs were asked if we had a reservation, even though we had just been told we did not need one over the phone. We were seated after we explained what we had been told. Once I aired my distressed feedback to our server Mackenzie, I felt a complete 180 turn for the better. She gave us the best service, drink and food knowledge along with our excellent meals. An added plus---she forever turned me on to my new favorite drink "Moscow Mule." Served in a copper mug, this drink contains ginger beer, ginger liquor, vodka and lime juice. The drinks are topnotch--ask your bartender and servers questions about drinks--they know what they are talking about. If you love cocktails, this is the place for you!

Good wine, good salad, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Not a lot of vegan or vegetarian options (only one) and definitely hard to find, but ok for a nice happy hour meet-up.

Great ambiance, plenty of craft beers choices and tasty food. Live music even on certain nights. Worth a try on the 3rd floor

KITCHEN ONLY- I go for the beer and events (music,, mixers, etc.), not the food. I appreciate the selection of beers on tap. The food menu doesn't excite me and they would benefit from offering more bites / appetizers that csn be shared by a group. I've never dined at La Salle Grill.

I can only rate this place based on our experience. We drove across town to try out the restaurant for a special event they had advertised on their website. We arrived to find a sign that said "closed tonight for maintenance. Sorry for the inconvenience." Really? I guess call before you go because they clearly don't have their act together. Probably says a lot about the restaurant.

Good place to find an interesting variety of craft beers, cocktails and great pub-style grub. Only downside: challenging to get service/find a table when they're busy.

We had our second experience with LKT and it was no better than the first. My wife had the LKT burger and I had the Hot Link sandwich. While the burger itself was good, the bun would have made a perfect paper meche prop. The Hot Link sandwich was horrible. The sausage must have been reheated at least 2-3 times because it was as dark and dry as I have ever seen. How does food like this leave the kitchen, simple, no pride in delivering a quality product.. Did we complain, no ! Were we asked how the meal was, no ! Will we go back, no !

Stopped by Lasalle for a drink and music. This is the third time I have been here and it gets better every time. This is a South Bend gem for sure. I travel for work all over the country and I have yet to find a place I'm more relaxed at and enjoy. Anne has been our server twice. Anne makes us feel like family and is at the top of her game. Friendly, focused and fabulous is the words to describe Anne :). I can't wait to come back. Thanks Lasalle for a great night out

I've been here several times since November, and every time I leave happy! Their menu is always changing so you get to try something new and different every visit! The roasted bone marrow and baked mac and cheese have been my favorite dishes so far. The drink menu is one of the best in South Bend!

First visit - Valentine's Day. We loved this place. Classy but casual atmosphere. Almost neighborhood bar vibe tonight. Service was friendly and attentive. Food and drinks were good comfort food. Live music was just right for my mood. Half price on small plates during happy hour. Our waitress kept reading our minds.. excellent service. We think she might have magical powers.

Best in South Bend - bourbon and beer selection is top notch with a great wait staff. Fantastic place to hang with friends, listen to great music and enjoy some delicious food.
